Wow, I've been knee-deep in Angora Napkin projects lately and having a ball!
First off, the Angora Napkin graphic novel is well under way. As I mentioned in an earlier post, I've loosened up and decided to just have some fun with these characters. I'm also making every effort to avoid cross-hatching ANYTHING for a change. I'll post a couple of pages from the book in a little while.
Before I started work on the book, I dug out all the old Angora Napkin binders and took another read through one of the storyboards Nick and I worked out a number of years back. I've always wanted to make this into an animated short and now it's slowly taking shape!
Here's a few snippits from "The Day the Music Died" -or- "Abracadavar". (think: 'Rocky & Bullwinkle' when you read the title).
I also want to give a big shout out to Lisa Marr for permission to use "My Chinchilla" in the short!! Lisa was part of the Vancouver Indy band cub (92-97) and other bands like Shonen Knife really inspired the creation of Angora Napkin, so it's really super cool to have some of that music in there! THANKS LISA!!!

Way to go Troy! An Angora Napkin comic and a short? You ambitious so-and-so. Are you using any of Zadia's music? Her theme song was pretty good.
I'm really excited to hear you're doing this. It wa always too good a project to just go away. Score another one for the Cub track too, I believe the original inspiration for the girls right?
Whaaat?!! Man why didn't we think of contacting cub 10 years ago??!!! that's awesome.

Who can say? It was set up to be an animated series in the beginning but right now it's just a short film and a graphic novel in progress. After that...
That's awsome. I can't wait to see it.
